_SRG3448 2

On the 13th April 2013, Lacoste invited guests to join them for a Garden Party to celebrate their 80th anniversary.

The Garden Party took place at Block 338 Restaurant & Lounge, in the garden courtyard. Among the guests were VIP customers, JC tennis academy members, and key print and on-line publications.

During the event, guests mingled in the garden and enjoyed cool cocktails and canapés during sunset. As darkness fell, the resident Jazz band at Block 338 performed classic melodies.

To celebrate Lacoste’s 80th Anniversary, the 80th guest to enter the event received a gift worth BD 100 from Lacoste Bahrain. In addition, a raffle draw took place for a grand prize of BD 100 voucher to be redeemed in any of the Lacoste outlets in Bahrain.

As guests left they were presented with a variety of Lacoste 80th birthday gifts.

I enjoyed planning each and every part of this occasion/event. It was hectic turning the venue to full branded by Lacoste however it turned out to be really nice! Paid attention to small details like having croco gummies, branded mini cupcakes, croco lollies and branded cushions which added that extra touch to the event. It is certainly an accomplishment..

Lacoste event –> CHECK! Will keep you posted on the next event planned! Keep reading…

I cant believe its already been four year since me and my friend Noora launched PLT back in 2009. We were inspired by the TV show Gossip Girl back then and Blaire’s beautiful bow headbands (we are TOTALLY over that phase). We decided to start doing them at home – this just started as a hobby but then with the encouragement of family and friends and their support it started to expand into a business. We expanded to different kind of accessories and jewlery and participated in many many exhibitions and charity events. Four years later- HERE WE ARE- bringing the headbands back!

‘Pretty Little Things’ just launched their SS13 floral collection in celebration of the brands 4th anniversary at one of Bahrain’s most famous monuments – Bab Al Bahrain. The launch took place at Bab Market at Bab Al Bahrain – an event organized by Ministry of Culture in Bahrain which is also part of “Spring of Culture” initiative. The floral collection consists of a selection of handpicked artificial flowers and put together into a beautiful headband which is hand made by the designer herself. The collection is inspired by the artists Frida Kahlo and Lana Del Ray- two iconic artists in history and in our modern world which has a very similar style of the SS13 collection.

Pretty Little Things initially started back in March 2009 by two friends Nada and Noora where they made the headbands as a hobby. The brand started on the basis of handmade headbands which was the trend back in 2009, then expanded to different types of accessories and customized jewelry. Now as the brand celebrates their Fourth anniversary – they are bringing back the headbands with a floral twist for this season.

The brand will be participating at Bab Market again on the 21,22 and 23rd of March and will be available at PINK Boutique in Al Aali Mall – Kingdom of Bahrain.

Michael Kors stops hunger!

Michael Kors- Watch Hunger Stop

MICHAEL KORS LAUNCHES EXCLUSIVE PARTNERSHIP WITH WFP

NEW YORK January 30, 2013 — Michael Kors is proud to announce its exclusive, long-term partnership with the United Nations World Food Programme, dedicated to helping solve the international hunger crisis, a cause that is the cornerstone of Kors’ philanthropic platform.

The World Food Programme (WFP) has been providing much-needed food assistance to vulnerable people, particularly mothers and children, around the world for 50 years. The organization works in more than 70 countries and feeds 90 million people annually, making it the largest organization fighting hunger around the world. As an extension of the United Nations, it provides emergency and developmental assistance to eliminate hunger and food-insecurity in the world’s poorest countries. In partnering with WFP, Michael Kors hopes to raise awareness and funds that will help to eradicate what WFP has deemed “the world’s most solvable problem.”

Michael Kors World Food Programme

“I am so proud to be joining the World Food Programme in one of the greatest global fights of our time–the battle to end hunger,” said Kors. “Over the years, I’ve had the great fortune of traveling the world and experiencing new cultures and people. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that millions of people all over the world are struggling to feed themselves, and their families, everyday. I want to lend my voice and my efforts to this international cause.”

In support of this goal to eliminate hunger, Michael Kors has committed to raising millions of dollars over the next few years through a combination of awareness-focused campaigns, special events and limited-edition fundraising products. The major goal of the partnership is to shed light on the continuing plight of the world’s hungry and to raise awareness throughout the fashion and global communities.

In January 2013, Michael Kors will release a public service announcement, set to air across the brand’s social media channels. The PSA features notable figures from the worlds of fashion, film and music, each stating a statistic to raise hunger crisis awareness throughout the fashion and global communities. In March, the company will launch two unisex watch styles for its “WATCH HUNGER STOP” campaign. For each watch sold, 100 children will be fed via the World Food Programme. There will also be a text-to-donate initiative to further fundraising efforts.

“We look forward to working with Michael Kors. Together, we will generate more attention as well as much needed resources in support of WFP’s efforts to end world hunger,” said WFP Executive Director Ertharin Cousin. “Our vision of the future is a world where every person has access to the quality and quantity of food required to not only lead a healthy life, but to also reach his or her full human potential.”

The new partnership with WFP is a significant milestone in Kors’ mission to eradicate hunger on both a local and global scale. In October 2012, Mr. Kors made a $5 million donation to God’s Love We Deliver, the New York-based non-profit organization that cooks and delivers individually tailored meals daily to people living with severe illnesses throughout New York City, Newark and Hudson County. This gift enabled the God’s Love We Deliver team to continue its life-affirming work and conduct a major renovation of its facility in SoHo, which will be renamed “The Michael Kors Building.” Following his contribution, Kors was honored with the 2012 Golden Heart Award for Lifetime Achievement at the Golden Heart Awards Dinner.

I love Celine.

For those who know me and follow my instagram account @prettylilposts, know how much i love the brand Celine. The brand purely symbolizes elegancy, simplicity combined with modernism. With statement hand bags such as the Luggage and the Trapeze – the brand is so bold in its nature.

IMG_4771

IMG_5099

Although they might only only use a color or two for the whole item, the item has so much character in its texture and design rather that the color. It could be a simple all-black bag – it will still make a statement! The brand doesnt focus on colors and patterns as much as it focuses on its design and textures which i think makes the brand so much sophisticated in its own design and state-of-the-art.

I would like to think of Celine bags as good company rather than an accessory. When i’m out with Celine, people stare at me and at my dear bag Celine. Although it is just an object- it has so much character and gets so much attention. I let my Celine sit on the passenger seat when im driving, get another chair for it when we’re dining, and treat this girl as great company. Although this might sound a bit too much – however, i have so much respect for this brand, the products and the designer herself Pheobe.

I am so thankful for be the marketing in charge for Celine in my country Bahrain. Working for a brand such as Celine makes me wake up everyday with a smile on my face excited to go to work. Although, my job is not all fun and fashion shows – it also requires alot of hard work – i dont mind it as long as its for something i believe in. Al Hamdillah :)

SS13 is all about bold colors such as orange and coral! Some photos below.. Celine just opened its new concession in SAKS FIFTH AVENUE – BAHRAIN CITY CENTRE. The items are so limited- therefore, you should continously visit the store to find what you want. If you have any questions about the brand or any enquiry for Celine Bahrain, please do not hesitate to email me on prettylittleposts@gmail.com , i would love to assist you my fashionistas!

Golden Globes 2013 – what i like and what i dont like

Its the time of the year where celebrities come out on the Red carpet and flaunt their dresses and jewlery to the papparazzi and the media. Some look absolutely fab and some other look like a joke.

This year’s golden globes wasnt bad in terms of fashion sense, yet i didnt see much statement dresses that i absolutely fell in love with. Below is some of what i liked and some of what i didnt like on the Red carpet this year.

Lucy Lui in Carolina Herrera

golden-globes-lucy-liu-carolina-herrera-dress

I loved this dress by Carolina Herrera frmo SS13 collection. Its young, fun and fresh! I think it looked really good on Lucy Lui especially with the side fishtail hairstyle she had – she wore it perfectly. The only negative thing i would say is that the timing is too advanced for this dress- its still too cold to wear it. I prefer to wear it with a nice tan in the midest of spring or summer, otherwise, its one of my fav.

Jessica Alba in Oscar Dela Renta

xjessica-alba-at-the-2013-golden-globes_jpg_pagespeed_ic_ByNh_ov0pq

Jessica Alba looked amazing in her Oscar de la Renta gown. She paired it with Harry Winston jewelry and a Roger Vivier clutch. The jewlery was to die for! The clutch was a great addition to the dress because the fur made the look a bit less summerish. The color of the dress compliments her olive skin color and great hair style. Jessica’s look makes her look younger yet so sophisticated. Love it!

Jennifer Lopez in Versace

B

J-Lo in Versace gown.. To be honest i didnt like her look. She looked too nude for me. She couldve added some sort of color to break the all-nude look. She couldve used some turquoise earrings or clutch to compliment the look. The dress couldve looked better, but i didnt like how she wore it. I love J-lo and her fashion moments on the red carpet- however, this is not her best moment.

Paul Smith instore gallery event

Hello Hello!

I promised you in my previous post to keep you updated on my latest events and work! Paul Smith instore gallery event was another thing that kept me really busy the past few months. Having to organize and manage two events which is were one week apart was stressful however, ilhimdillah it has been done and the brand is very happy with the outcome.

Every event i plan makes me get closer to the brand. I had no backgroud about the design Paul Smith until recently when i joined fashion marketing. Paul Smith is a legend i must say, he’s a pure inspiration to me. His story is so pure and inspiring, who knew that PAUL SMITH’s dream was to be simply a bicyclist and not a designer. Paul Smith is a very down to earth person, he always wanted to be proffesional cyclist however, he got into an accident and was hospitalized for 3 months. After his accident, he got married and got so much inspiration from his wife which together they opened their first store in the United Kingdom.

Paul Smith is very down to earth and self-taught. He gets his inspiration and his knowledge by talking to everyone- different kinds of people from the homeless to the presidents and the most high-ly educated people. One of my favorite Paul Smith stories is when he was having dinner with a highly educated people having philosophical conversation using big words he couldnt understand – he sat there wandering “Theres no difference between me and these high-educated people, at the end of the day all go to the loo everyday and our mothers changed our diapers when we will little”. This thought really made me realise how down to earth he is and that he considers everyone equal, status does not matter to him.

IMG_4124

Other than his stories, his designs and colorful prints are all inspired by his photography! For those who didnt know, paul Smith is also a photographer. This event showcased 33 of his favorite photography- the store was turned into a gallery with a musician playing Paul’s favorite types of music.. Canapes and really cute branded mini cheesecakes were served around too. Many press, bloggers and VIPs were at the event. Poloroid photos were taken of the guests with guests messages written on the back to Sir Paul Smith- which was later sent to him! He loves these things!

Some photos of the event below :) Cheers.

Tory Burch Press day

Hello followers,

Unfortunately i have been really busy lately – but i thought i have to leave you guys a post or two to keep you updated!

TORY BURCH press day was one of the things i was busy planning the past few months. As per my previous post, i have mentioned that TORY BURCH is now open in Bahrain. Part of the planning was to invite press and bloggers to come to our store, be the first to know about our SS13 and educate them about the inspiration behind it..

Part of the event planning was to order foods and beverages, do the tasting, make sure they are all according to the brand guidelines, order flowers, follow up with invitees about attendance, hire a photographer, getting the press gifts in to place, and last but not least organizing the press kit contents. Overall, despite how stressful it was to plan and make sure nothing goes wrong- the event went well and the press and bloggers were happy :) I think i did a great job! Some photos below…

IMG_0207

IMG_0106

It really inspires me how TORY BURCH gets her design inspiration – the SS13 is so colorful and dynamic in its prints. I find them really interesting and fun to wear!

A brief about the inspiration behind SS13 collection:
“American prep remix. We were thinking about a stylish magpie who picks up special pieces while traveling around the world and always mixes them with classic sportswear”.

Few runway looks feature the one-of-a-kind hand-dyed fabrics made exclusively for Tory Burch by women artisans from the Kindia region of Guinea. This collaboration was made possible through the Tory Burch Foundation and There is No Limit Foundation’s Association of Women Tie-Dyers, which share a common goal of empowering women, their families and communities.

Some of Tory’s favorite looks are as below… You can find some of these peices in the store in Bahrain City Centre :)
